This policy explains how personal information is handled when you use the MealNow app and getmealnow.com. It describes the information involved, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
MealNow is operated by Road2Crypto LLC, which is responsible for the information handling described in this policy.
Your records and preferences
MealNow stores your meal plans and logs, water and weight entries, profile information, interests, reminder settings, journal notes, photos and voice notes in the app on your device. These records are not automatically synchronized to a MealNow account server.
Information can leave your device when you use an optional integration or backup, share content, send a support request, or through the analytics and diagnostics described below. Photos, camera and microphone access are requested through your device when a feature needs them.
Apple Health
Apple Health sync is optional. If you enable it and grant permission, MealNow can save your water and weight entries to Apple Health and update or remove matching entries it created. The current integration does not import your general Health history.
You control these permissions in Apple Health and can turn sync off in MealNow. Turning sync off does not remove information already saved in Apple Health. You can manage those entries directly in Apple Health. Health data is not sold or used for advertising.
Optional iCloud backups
If you create an iCloud backup, MealNow encrypts a copy of your records, settings and media before saving it in your iCloud Drive. The encryption key is stored using iCloud Keychain. Restoring that backup depends on access to the corresponding Apple account and key.
You can delete a MealNow backup using the backup controls in the app. Deleting a local record does not remove it from an older backup. Apple may also include app data in device backups according to your Apple account and device settings.
Usage information and diagnostics
MealNow uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand app usage, measure purchases and investigate crashes. Recorded information can include a device identifier, app and operating system versions, screens and actions, selected interests, feature use, purchase information and profile attributes such as gender at birth. These records should not be considered anonymous.
Network information is also used to derive location through IPinfo. Analytics can include an IP address, country, city, postal code and coordinates derived from that address. This location is based on the network connection, rather than a request for your device’s GPS location.
Production error reports are sent to Better Stack and can include error messages, app and device information, and details relevant to the failure. For example, a validation error can include an entered water amount. Diagnostic information can therefore contain more than a feature name or a count of actions.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store payments. MealNow receives product and transaction information to verify access, restore purchases, and understand subscriptions and trials. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.
Purchase records and internal purchase notifications can include the product, transaction identifier, purchase time, subscription status, feature that led to the purchase, country, installation information and profile attributes such as gender at birth.
Support, feedback and feature requests
When you contact support, the email address, topic and message you provide are sent to our support service. Bug reports also attach diagnostics that can include settings, purchase status, reminder times, meal names and recent errors. Feature votes can include the chosen feature, device information and gender at birth.
Only include information you want to share in your message or attachments. Information already sent to support is separate from the local records in the app.
The MealNow website
The website uses a cookie to remember the language you select. You can remove it in your browser settings. Hosting and delivery services, including Cloudflare, process technical request information such as IP addresses, browser information and requested pages to deliver and protect the website.
How information is used and shared
Information is used to operate MealNow, provide the features you choose, verify purchases, respond to requests, diagnose problems, protect the service and improve the experience. We do not sell your personal information.
Information is processed by the providers needed for those purposes, including Apple, Google Firebase, IPinfo, Better Stack, and our hosting and support providers. Their processing may occur outside your country. Applicable data protection requirements govern those transfers.
Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect legal rights or the safety of the service, or in connection with a business transfer. If a transfer changes how personal information is handled, we will provide the notice required by applicable law.
Retention and deletion
Local records remain in your app storage until you remove them or the app’s data. MealNow provides controls for managing meals, water and weight entries, journal content and photos. Backups, Apple Health entries and information already sent to support or analytics are managed separately. Removing the app does not cancel an App Store subscription.
Support, purchase and diagnostic records are retained for the purposes described in this policy, including resolving requests, preventing abuse and meeting legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of record and the relevant provider’s settings. Contact us if you want to request deletion of information handled outside your device.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can edit information in MealNow, manage device permissions, turn off Apple Health sync, manage backups and choose what to share with support. Where processing relies on your consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting processing that already occurred.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us to exercise applicable rights. We may need information to verify the request, and some records may need to be retained where the law permits or requires it.
Security
We use safeguards appropriate to the information and service, including encryption for MealNow’s optional iCloud backup files. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect access to your device and Apple account, and keep copies of information you need.
Children’s privacy
MealNow is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Other services and policy changes
Apple and other external services have their own privacy policies. Review their policies when you use those services. We may update this policy as MealNow changes. The date above identifies the latest revision, and we will provide additional notice where required.
